ABOUT
2022 BC CAMPING CONFERENCE
The BC Camping Conference presents our 2022 Virtual Camping Conference.
Conference Details: February 01 and 02, 2022 via Zoom
The BC Camping Conference is a linked event, co- organized by the BC Camps Association (BCCA) and the Fellowship of Christian Camps (FCC). This annual gathering is for people passionate about camps in British Columbia. Every late January/ early February, we typically host 180 people from 40 member camps, to gather in person to share knowledge, swap stories, play together, and celebrate camping in British Columbia. This year we are taking that online! From staff to board members, owners to operators, everyone is welcome to attend!
Join us for one day or two, and reconnect with your colleagues before we venture into the 2022 camping season.
$20 for one day, $30 for two.

Keynote Speaker

Kenza Derkaoui (she/her)
Bakau Consulting: Fundamentals of Anti-Oppression
Biography:
Kenza is a bilingual young professional and published writer with demonstrated experience fostering critical discussion across a variety of platforms, including SquareSpace, Instagram, and Google Teams. She is currently employed as an administrative assistant with the Strategic Direction branch of Shared Services at the Federal Government of Canada. As the editor of WomenEmpower, a community space for fostering safe spaces for open conversation, she focuses on creating thoughtful content through an intersectional lens such as newsletters and think pieces that highlight community members while facilitating discussions centred around anti-oppression.
Fundamentals of Anti-oppression dives deeper than your typical diversity and inclusion workshop. In this workshop, participants are given the opportunity to explore systemic oppression, social justice, privilege, identity and allyship through a variety of engaging activities. Through self-reflection, community- based inquiry, lessons from history and collaborative problem solving, participants gain the knowledge and skills to view the world through an anti- oppressive lens

The
Virtual Conference
VIA ZOOM
The 2022 Virtual Conference will be hosted via Zoom. Conference attendees will be required to submit a simple registration prior to this event. A week prior to conference, all registered attendees will be sent the Zoom link to login into the event. The conference is open and available to all who would like to attend. We understand some have lost their jobs, others may have a position at camp that might look different than it used to, and many leaders find themselves working alone. Due to the hardship of 2020 and 2021, the BCCC is offering this year’s Conference at cost, for a nominal fee of $20 for one day, or $30 for two days.
